Environment

Groups have been aware of the environmental problems that affect Ugandans and have tried to ameliorate some of these where they can.

Restocking trees has been a feature and groups have planted hedges and trees as part of school linking ceremonies for many years.

They have also taken part in a local carbon offsetting scheme, planting trees on the banks of the River Nile to offset their use of carbon by flying to and from Uganda.

The link has helped to set up several Roof catchment water schemes to conserve water and has participated in a weather recording project.

The link between Namutumba and Ross Lions in helping to clean up the town of rubbish is another example of environmental concerns being addressed as the photographs illustrate.
